Ms. Brown recently joined the Carpenter Hazlewood’s Albuquerque office as its Managing Partner in May 2017. She is a native New Mexican, having grown up in Alamogordo, New Mexico and spending most of her adult life in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Ms. Brown graduated in 2003 from the University of New Mexico, summa cum laude, and then from Baylor Law School in November of 2006. She has been licensed in New Mexico and Texas since 2007 and has devoted the last ten years of her professional practice to general civil litigation defense, with an emphasis on healthcare defense. Ms. Brown has successfully defended both medical malpractice and general personal injury cases to New Mexico juries. Ms. Brown’s current practice focuses on Community Association law, business law, insurance defense, personal injury defense, and professional malpractice defense.
Ms. Brown is also admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court (2012), the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals (2011), and the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico (2009). Ms. Brown is a member of the New Mexico and Texas Bar Associations and the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association. She has for the last four years (2014-2017) been honored with the SuperLawyers Rising Stars of the Southwest peer-nominated and reviewed Award in the area of medical malpractice defense. Since 2010, Ms. Brown has also held a Distinguished Rating with Martindale Hubbell and has recently earned the 2016 Client Satisfaction Award by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys and the America’s Most Honored Professional, 2017, Award through the American Registry.
During her spare time, Ms. Brown enjoys hiking in the Rocky Mountains, reading and spending time with her parents, four siblings and her extended family.
